For you change the language, go to file “netbeans root/etc/netbeans.conf” after that add a new parameter ( -J-Duser.language=en -J-Duser.country=US ) in line: “netbeans_default_options”

I working in a project and needed improve the performance to some pages.

I use for run the application the glassfish server. A way to improve the performance of application is change some properties of “http-listener” element for the response of server be “compressed”. New browsers have a support to request of type “Accept-Encoding gzip,deflate”.

Open the administrative console and click in Configuration “/” HTTP/Service “/” http-listener-1 and add two news properties.

Today I will talk how to run php on java

Exists a project with name: Quercus.

Quercus is Caucho Technology’s fast, open-source, 100% Java implementation of the PHP language (requires JDK 1.5).

The first step to run quercus is Install the library

You need make the download of latest version of Quercus. To do that, let’s open up the Quercus war file, and look in WEB-INF/lib, where you will find 3 jar files. Now you have a choice. If you want to make PHP support available to all domains, place these three jars (quercus.jar, resin-util.jar, and script-10.jar) in the lib/ directory in your GlassFish installation root. If you only want to add support to one domain, copy the jars to the lib/ directory in your domain directory (e.g., $GF_HOME/domains/domain1/lib/).

After that you need enabling the PHP support.

With the jars installed, we’re ready to modify the default web configuration. This is done by modifying config/default-web.xml in each domain directory you would like to affect. I have not seen a way to change this globally, so you have to do this to each domain. If someone out there knows how, though, I’m all ears. At any rate, in default-web.xml, add these servlet and servlet-mapping entries:

Installing WordPress

For our purposes, we’re going to make WordPress available at http://localhost:8080/wordpress, so we create the directory $GF_HOME/domains/domain1/docroot/wordpress. Next, we extract the WordPress archive here. Pointing our browser at http://localhost:8080/wordpress/, we see the typical WordPress installation screens. The first screen tells us that WordPress can’t find the configuration file, and offers us a link to create one. Click on that, then click on the “Let’s go!” .

On the form that is presented, fill out the requested information and click submit. We are now ready to begin the installation, so click the “Run the install,” answer two more questions, and click “Install WordPress.” After a few seconds, you should see the “Success!” page. Make a note of the password, and click “Log In.”

Almost 2 days ago me and my friend developed a system with the technology java on platform se … we have some problems when we tried put the system on production environment.

The first problem was with heap memory of (jvm)

If your Java program requires a large amount of memory, it’s possible that the virtual machine will begin to throw OutOfMemoryError instances when attempting to instantiate objects. In some cases, this may be the result of a programming error, but in others, it’s simply a result of your program legitimately using more memory than is available. In this latter case, you can increase the “heap size” allocated by the Java Virtual Machine (JVM) by using command line options.

We created a shortcut to our application.

On shortcut we change the parameter of jvm to: java -Xmx512m – jar MyJarName.jar

But don’t forget that the java needs be on classpath

First Step.

you need to do the download glassfish

Unpackage the downloaded bits.

Go to the directory home of the glassfish by prompt

E.g.:

Go to glassfish directory

# cd\
# cd glassfish

After this put the following line. java -Xmx256m -jar glassfish-installer-xxx.jar

E.g.: In prompt

#c:\glassfish > java -Xmx256m -jar glassfish-installer-xxx.jar

Last step.

In the same directory run the following command.

#c:\glassfish>ant -f setup.xml

Tip to create the glassfish service into windows services.

You need download of jar file and put it on home directory of glassfish.

E.g.: Path in my computer — C:\GlassfishV2\

Running the following command on prompt:

C:\GlassfishV2>java -jar GlassfishSvc.jar -i 

The -i argument will install the service with default options.

Look this output of command.

Some days ago I had a problem when I was trying to deploy my application.

I didn’t know the user and the server password.

So, to solve the problem here it is a tip to create new user and password on tomcat server.

Open the directory … apache-tomcat-5.5.27\conf and edit the file “tomcat-user.xml”.

Change the tag “user” with your “user” and “password” and open again the console of tomcat and try put your new user and password.
